Michigan left guard Trevor Keegan announced on Thursday evening that he’ll be returning to the Wolverines for the 2023-2024 college football season. He announced the move in a post on his Instagram page. Keegan will be returning to the Wolverines, instead of entering the 2023 NFL Draft.

Check it out below.

This year will be his fifth year during his college football career. His announcement reads,

“For the past 4 years, I’ve been surrounded with incredible individuals who have made a huge impact on my life. My time here at Michigan has allowed me to grow in so many aspects in life, on and off the field. My teammates and coaches have built a culture that is unbreakable and it’s been special to be a part of. I wouldn’t want these last 4 years to have gone any differently.

“Making it to the NFL has been a dream of mine ever since I picked up a football. With a lot of thought and talking with those closest to me. There is more that I want to achieve personally and collectively as a team. Thrilled to get back to work with my teammates and get rolling. Trevor Keegan #77.”

He helped pave the road this season for one of the nation’s most prolific ground attacks. The Wolverines averaged 238.9 yards per game on the ground, ranking them fifth in the country in that stat category.

Coming out of Crystal Lake South (Crystal Lake, Illinois), Keegan was rated as a four-star prospect and the No. 192 overall player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus Rankings for the 2019 cycle.

Keegan decided to return to Michigan and not enter the 2023 NFL Draft

The 2023 NFL Draft is set to take place from Thursday, April 27 through Saturday, April 29 in Kansas City, Missouri. The event will be held at the plaza just outside of Union Station.

Round 1 of the NFL Draft is set to begin at 8 p.m. ET on Thursday, Apr. 27. Rounds 2-3 will begin at 7 p.m. ET on Friday, Apr. 28, and Rounds 4-7 will begin at 12 p.m. ET on Saturday, Apr. 29. The draft will be broadcasted throughout the weekend on both ESPN and NFL Network.

To be eligible for the NFL Draft, players must be at least three years removed from their final year of high school while having used up their collegiate eligibility. Underclassmen are able to request league approval to become eligible for the draft, as are players who have graduated prior to using up all of their collegiate eligibility. 100 underclassmen were approved for last year’s draft. 73 of those 100 underclassmen were granted special eligibility while 27 of them were underclassmen who had completed their college degrees.

The 2023 NFL Scouting Combine will take place from Feb. 28 through March 6 in Indianapolis.
