Michigan has offered French defensive lineman Jeffrey M’ba, who currently plays at Independence (Kan.) Independence Community College.

M’ba usually has the same caption for each post announcing an offer, but included “THIS IS HUGE” in his Twitter post Tuesday.

The Wolverines are the latest team to officially enter the M’ba sweepstakes, which has picked up over the last few weeks.

Arizona State, Florida Atlantic, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Morgan State, NC State, Nebraska, UNLV, USC and West Virginia have all offered M’ba since Oct. 1.

He also has offers from Kansas State and Miami.

Jeffrey M’ba has had a whirlwind few years

M’ba’s road to this point has be hectic.

He first burst onto the scene as one of the top international recruits in the 2019 class, earning a four-star rating from 247 Sports. He was playing football in France for Pole France de Football Americain, and decided to move to the U.S. for his senior season.

However, issues with his transcript led him to be ineligble to play for Baltimore St. Frances Academy. He then transferred to Oakdale (Conn.) St. Thomas More.

He committed to Virginia in March 2019 but backed out of the commitment three months later when he decided to reclassify into the 2020 class. During this time, he had offers from Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State and West Virginia, among others.

But transcript problems continued, and he enrolled at Independence Community College last fall.

M’ba played for the team last spring but has shined for the JUCO this fall.

He is tied for third on Independence Community College in tackles with 27 and leads the team with 10.5 TFLs. He also has two sacks, one fumble recovery and one interception.

Biff Poggi, who would have been M’ba’s coach at Baltimore St. Frances Academy, is currently a coach at Michigan.
