South Carolina is rolling, and Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz knows his Tigers are in the way of the Gamecocks’ continuing one of the best starts to a season in the past decade. Giving credit where credit is due, Drinzwitz detailed which offensive playmakers he’ll be weary of during Saturday’s matchup.

“Offensively, they have dynamic weapons. Josh Vann obviously the quarterback is extremely talented. Marshawn LloydJaheim Bell, transfer tight end Austin Stogner,” Drinkwitz said. “They’ve got a lot of weapons.”

Vann has missed a solid chunk of the season, and only has seven receptions for 70 yards to his credit this season. He’s a big-time playmaker for the Gamecocks when readily in the rotation. Lloyd is the team’s leading rusher with 526 yards and a team-high nine touchdowns on 5.7 yards per carry. Tight ends Bell and Stogner has combined for 297 yards this year.

Drinkwitz went more in-depth with his praise for quarterback Spencer Rattler, especially with the season he’s had in the face of adversity.

“Spencer’s a great talented quarterback who’s really getting comfortable within his system and leading his team to wins,” Drinkwitz said of Rattler. “He does a good job handling their pro-style offense. He’s able to create space with his feet and keep his eyes down the field to extend plays. He’s able to throw the ball vertically down the field. He’s been doing a good job of getting his playmakers the ball.”

Rattler has thrown for 1,466 yards, five touchdowns and eight interceptions this season. Obviously not the best stats through seven games, but South Carolina sits at 5-2 on the season, is ranked No. 25 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll and are rated third in the SEC East behind No. 1 Georgia (7-0) and No. 3 Tennessee (7-0).
