Phoenix Pinnacle Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Dylan Raiola is visiting Nebraska this weekend. He was spotted Saturday at the Cornhuskers’ basketball game against Minnesota.

During the contest, Nebraska’s student section and fans started calling Raiola’s name. He responded by standing up and crossing his arms into an X symbol, or throwing the bones. It is a tradition that recognizes Nebraska’s defense.

Due to the NCAA dead period still being in effect, Raiola will not be allowed to visit campus or meet with most of Nebraska’s coaches on this trip. The only exception is offensive line coach Donovan Raiola, his uncle.

Raiola is the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2024 On300. He is currently scheduled to return to Lincoln on the weekend of March 25, according to On3’s Chad Simmons.

In addition to the Cornhuskers, Georgia, Oregon and USC are considered other contenders in Raiola’s recruitment. The 6-foot-3, 225-pound signal-caller decommitted from Ohio State on Dec. 17.

“Nebraska is Nebraska,” Raiola told Simmons on Jan. 18. “My dad went there, so Nebraska is family to my family. It is a program with a lot of history. A lot of great players have played there and Nebraska is special to my family.

“I don’t know a lot about coach (Matt) Rhule yet. That is why I want to visit. I want to sit down with coach Rhule, learn more about him and give Nebraska a fair shot. The school is great. I know a lot about the history, so now I want to learn about the new people in the program.”

Dylan Raiola On3 Scouting Summary

The following is the On3 Scouting Summary for Dylan Raiola:

“Advanced arm talent with the ability to make a wide variety of high-level throws as a high school underclassman. Looks like the top quarterback prospect and overall arm talent in the 2024 cycle early on. Physically developed at around 6-foot-3, 210 pounds. Has a natural, loose throwing motion with unique arm dexterity to deliver off-platform and from multiple arm slots. Already has a deep catalog of throws as a rising junior in high school. Easily drives the ball to all levels of the field. Played both under center and in the shotgun as a sophomore.

“Ahead of the curve as a ball-handler and in the quick passing game. Shows good footwork and awareness in the pocket. Capable of creative plays in the face of pressure. Primarily a pass-first quarterback as a sophomore, not running for many yards. Turned in one of the more productive sophomore seasons among top 2024 quarterbacks. The son of 14-year NFL center Dominic Raiola. Also a standout baseball player as a pitcher and catcher.”
