Noah Grubbs

On Thursday, Lake Mary (Fla.) four-star quarterback Noah Grubbs trimmed his list of top schools down to 10.

North Carolina is among that group, and the Tar Heels are set to welcome the junior gunslinger to Chapel Hill this weekend. Grubbs tells On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong he’ll be back to UNC in the coming days as the ACC program continues to impress.

Grubbs is the No. 113 overall prospect and No. 10 QB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 19 player in Florida.

Notre Dame, Ohio State, Miami, Auburn, Michigan, Florida, Texas A&M, Nebraska and UCF make up the rest of Grubbs’ top 10. He’s taken a bevy of visits this spring and has continued to work through his recruitment as he gears up for his junior season.

The in-state Hurricanes and Gators are two of the teams that have had Grubbs on campus recently. He broke down the trips with Wiltfong as both remain in the mix for his pledge.

Miami: “My recent unofficial visit to Miami was great! Got to spend a lot of 1-on-1 time with Coach Dawson and Coach Cristobal. I learned more about how awesome an academic program Miami is and how the population is small so success rates are very high. At the end of the day, Miami is a place with so much tradition and so many All-Americans that played the game at the highest level. There is a lot of weight when someone talks about Miami. I love the standard these coaches set especially at practice.”

Florida: “Florida was much better than I originally anticipated. I’ve been there several times and have done multiple tours and talked to multiple coaches but the difference in this visit was the time I spent with the strength staff and how much they truly value developing the quarterback position. I also got to spend some 1-on-1 time with Coach O’Hara and Coach Napier. Coach O’Hara broke down my game and compared it to Anthony Richardson throw for throw and it was great to hear how much he loved that I am able to make all the throws so it opens up the offense for me. That was very impressive and I really love the vision Coach Napier has for Florida.”

Michigan, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Alabama have also had the signal-caller back to campus. Grubbs passed for 3,670 yards and 49 touchdowns with four more rushing scores as a sophomore for Lake Mary High.
