North Carolina defensive back Cameron Roseman-Sinclair has entered the NCAA transfer portal, per On3’s Matt Zenitz. The second-year Tar Heel safety played in 13 games for Mack Brown in 2021 before opting to find a new home.

Roseman-Sinclair signed with North Carolina as part of the 2020 recruiting class out of Myers Park High in Charlotte. He was a four-star prospect and top-250 signee, according to the On3 Consensus rankings. He picked North Carolina over offers from Kentucky, Louisville, Tennessee and other DI programs.

The new transfer posted stats in four games for UNC last season, totaling six solo tackles. In 2020, he had one tackle in the game versus NC State.

Roseman-Sinclair is 5-foot-11, 210 pounds. He’ll have immediate eligibility at the program of his choice as this is his first transfer. After receiving eligibility relief from the NCAA for the 2020 season, Roseman-Sinclair has three years remaining to play at his new school.

The NCAA Transfer Portal, which covers every NCAA sport at the Division I, II and III levels, is a private database with names of student-athletes who wish to transfer. It is not accessible to the public.

The process of entering the portal goes through a school’s compliance office. Once a player provides written notification of an intent to transfer, the office enters the player’s name in the database. The compliance office has 48 hours to comply with the player’s request.

Once a player’s name shows up in the portal, other schools can contact the player. Players can change their minds at any point and withdraw from the portal. However, once a player enters the portal, the current scholarship is no longer valid. In other words, if a player enters the portal but decides to stay, the school does not have to reoffer a scholarship.
