Atlanta (Ga.) Pace Academy interior offensive lineman Trovon Baugh has been offered by North Carolina, he announced Thursday on Twitter.

Baugh is the No. 501 prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 38 offensive lineman and the No. 46 junior prospect in the state of Georgia.

On3 is much higher on him than the rest of the industry, though. The latest On300 rankings tab him as the No. 193 overall prospect, No. 15 interior offensive lineman and No. 18 prospect in the Peach State.

The Tar Heels join a group of more than schools pursuing Baugh, including Florida State, N.C. State, Miami, Tennessee, Missouri and others. Baugh is fresh off a visit to Florida State this past weekend and has a busy slate of visits ahead.

Trovon Baugh set for a hectic spring

On the recruiting trail, Baugh likes South Carolina and Florida State early on. He is also high on West Virginia, Ohio State and Michigan State.

“They play big boy football,” Baugh said. “They’re fast, physical and aggressive. That’s the way I like to play. I think those schools fit me.”

Baugh is planning to visit Michigan State, Michigan, Georgia, and possibly Florida.

Life has changed a lot in the last few months for Baugh. He dropped from 335 pounds to 303 pounds during the 2021 football season.

The dropped weight turned into more speed, which has resulted in an uptick in college interest as of late.

Baugh’s a hot topic for a lot of major programs this spring. He’s been in contact with Florida, Georiga and others recently.

“I’m loving it,” Baugh told On3’s Jeremy Johnson. “It really shocked me. I didn’t expect it to happen this fast. For me to pick up this many offers in just a month’s span, I love it. A lot of things changed. I knew going into my junior I had to change my body type and get slimmer and trimmer to get sharper and faster.”
