Notre Dame edge rusher Isaiah Foskey has finally decided what he’s going to do for the 2023 season. Foskey announced on Twitter on Thursday afternoon that he will officially enter the 2023 NFL Draft.

His announcement reads: “First and foremost, I would like to thank GOD for ordering my steps! I’ve always loved and lived by ‘A man’s gift makes room for him, and brings him before great men.’ (Proverbs 18:16). God has put me in front of great people to help me succeed both in life and in football.”

“I would like to thank my FAMILY as they have always been by my side. My success has been and will always be their success. You all have shaped me to be the man I am today and I am FOREVER GRATEFUL.”

“I will always love and respect NOTRE DAME for helping me grow over the last 3.5 years of my life. I have matured as a football player and as a man here in South Bend. Thank you to the entire athletic and coaching staff here at Notre Dame as well as every instructor, mentor, and peer. For my brothers that I take the field with each Saturday, the work we put in day in and day out will always be cherished. Love y’all boys. #FTB”

There is truly no place like NOTRE DAME! It has been a true honor to wear the Gold dome. After much thought and prayer I’ve decided to enter the 2023 NFL Draft. #IFFactor. Isaiah Foskey

Isaiah Foskey came to Notre Dame in 2019. Initially, he played sparingly, working his way into the rotation more and more as time went on. By 2021, he was one of the best edge rushers in the game.

He leaves South Bend with 26.5 total sacks in his career, finishing as Notre Dame’s all-time sack leader. Foskey surpassed the school’s previous all-time leader, Justin Tuck, who had 24.5 sacks during his prolific career with the Fighting Irish from 2002-2004.

There was some surprise that Isaiah Foskey didn’t choose to come out after the 2021 season, in which he had a dominant 11 sacks. However, he returned to South Bend with unfinished business, leading the Irish into a new era under first-year head coach Marcus Freeman.

Coming into the 2022 season, Isaiah Foskey was seen as one of the best pass rushers in the 2023 NFL Draft class. He proved that throughout the season, adding another 11 sacks in the 2022 season. That included a three-sack performance that he put up against an overmatched UNLV team. Foskey’s 11 sacks in a single season were the third most in program history.

Foskey is expected to be a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. With a good pre-draft process, he could even move as high as the top 10.

The 2023 NFL Draft is set to take place in Kansas City, Missouri. It will start on Thursday, April 27, and runs through Saturday, April 29. The plaza just outside of Union Station will host the event.

On Thursday, the opening night of the draft, round one will take place. That’s followed by rounds two and three on the Friday of that week. The rest of the draft will wrap up on Saturday. ESPN and the NFL Network both hold broadcasting rights to the NFL Draft.

The NFL Scouting Combine is one of the events that will lead up to the NFL Draft. It takes place in Indianapolis, Indiana from February 28, 2023 to March 6, 2023. Other events, such as the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Alabama, will also help players to stand out in the draft process.

In order to be eligible for the NFL Draft, a player must be three years out of high school while having used up their collegiate eligibility. However, underclassmen and graduates who still have eligibility can request league approval to become eligible for the draft.
