Denton (Texas) Guyer five-star safety Peyton Bowen is one of the top defensive backs in the 2023 cycle. The Notre Dame commit demonstrated why on Thursday night against Rockwall (Texas) Rockwell-Heath.

As Rockwell-Heath’s quarterback lofted a pass to the right side of the field, Bowen jumped the route. He then raced 75 yards untouched for a touchdown.

A 6-foot-0, 185 pound defensive back, Bowen is the No. 24 overall prospect and No. 2 safety in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Texas.

On3 rates Bowen even higher. Per the 2023 On300, Bowen is the No. 18 overall prospect and No. 2 player in Texas.

Bowen has been committed to the Fighting Irish since Jan. 1, 2022. He is currently the highest-rated recruit in Notre Dame’s 2023 recruiting class, which ranks No. 3 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.

Notre Dame received an official visit from the five-star recruit on June 10. However, two programs —  Oklahoma and Texas A&M — are working hard to flip Bowen.

Bowen has an On3 NIL Valuation of $207K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
