Four-star offensive tackle Will Black of Wallingford (CT) Choate Rosemary Hall announced his commitment to Notre Dame Thursday afternoon.

The 6-foot-7, 290 pounder chose the Fighting Irish over Michigan, Alabama, and Penn State.

“I’ve built a great relationship with the coaches (Rudolph and Freeman) and I really believe in them and think they can develop me into the best player I can be. Notre Dame is known for  producing offensive linemen. The academics at Notre Dame are great and set you up for life after football. They have a great culture at Notre Dame and I believe I’m a great fit there.”

His relationship with the coaching staff and their plan for him played a role in his decision as well.

“I’ve been building a relationship with the coaches there for a while. Once coach Rudolph came in and offered me at camp we have been getting to know eachother better which is who I’m closest with. I got to meet his family and learn more about who he is as a person. His plan for me is to develop me into a player like Joe Alt and send me to the NFL.”
