Earlier this spring, Bellefontaine (Ohio) quarterback Tavien St. Clair cemented himself as one of the nation’s top passers by earning a five-star rating in the On3 Industry Ranking.

On Sunday, he continued to prove himself as one of the nation’s best signal-callers by earning an invitation to the Elite 11 Finals later this summer after a standout performance at the regional Elite 11 camp in Columbus, Ohio.

FULL ELITE 11 FINALS ROSTER

There are few higher honors for high school quarterbacks than being invited to the Elite 11 Finals. The event, which will celebrate its 25th year in 2024, brings together the country’s elite signal-callers for three days of competition and training in Los Angeles.

Elite 11 alumni include Carson PalmerAndrew LuckMatthew StaffordTim Tebow, and more recently Trevor LawrenceC.J. StroudBryce Young and more. Last year’s Elite 11 Finals featured more than a dozen of the top 20 quarterbacks in the final On3 Industry Rankings, including each of the top five players at the position.

He becomes the sixth invitee to this year’s event, joining Notre Dame commit Deuce Knight, Texas A&M commit Husan Longstreet, Texas commit K.J. Lacey, SMU commit Keelon Russell, Oklahoma commit Kevin Sperry and Florida State pledge Tramell Jones.

St. Clair has been a massive stock riser over the past year

He made an early commitment to the Buckeyes back in June 2023, choosing Ryan Day and his staff over offers from Toledo, Louisville, Florida and a handful of others. At the time, he wasn’t known as a major national prospect, but has certainly put people on notice with his meteoric jump in the past nine-plus months.

St. Clair then skyrocketed up the recruiting rankings after a huge junior season. He currently sits as the No. 12 overall prospect in the 2025 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

“Tavien St. Clair had a breakout junior season on the heels of a strong run of camp showings last off-season,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power wrote in February. “At 6-foot-3.5, 210 pounds, St. Clair owns a readymade frame with very good arm strength and solid functional athleticism. He turned in a productive season, completing 70.6% of his passes for 3,083 yards and 37 touchdowns against six interceptions in addition to 352 yards and four scores on the ground. St. Clair will need continued seasoning with is overall consistency and decision-making, but the degree of progress he showed as a junior is encouraging.”

He joins a prestigious list of Ohio State quarterback commits to earn the Elite 11 Finals nod, including Air Noland, Devin Brown, Quinn Ewers, Kyle McCord and CJ Stroud.
