Rapid Reaction Buckeyes Coaching Staff Shakeup Continues Ohio State Football

On Friday, Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson announced he will return to the Buckeyes for the 2024 season.

Henderson has played three seasons for the Buckeyes, making 31 appearances. In 10 games during the 2023 campaign, Henderson tallied 156 carries for 926 yards and 11 touchdowns. This season, he became only the 28th Buckeye to rush for at least 2,000 career yards.

After breaking out with a long catch and run for a touchdown in his career opener at Minnesota during his freshman season, Henderson quickly took over the starting running back role. He never gave it back, and he set records as a freshman, running for 270 yards in a win over Tulsa early in his career.

Injuries slowed him down late in his freshman season and during the entirety of his sophomore campaign. Nonetheless, Henderson has amassed a stunning 2,745 rushing yards and 32 scores at OSU, averaging 6.2 yards per carry.

Henderson played high school football at Hopewell (Va.), where he was a five-star prospect. He was the No. 19 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
