Aledo (Texas) four-star tight end Jason Llewellyn double-downed on his commitment Monday to Oklahoma, tweeting that he wants to dress in crimson and cream at the next level.

After a lot of prayer and taking everything in, there is no school I’d rather play for than The University of Oklahoma,” Llewellyn said. “The fans, the culture and the family that is OU is something special and something I want to be a part of for the rest of my life.”

Llewellyn is the No. 447 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 23 tight end and the No. 68 prospect in the state of Texas.

He is one of two tight ends in the Sooners recruiting class with Bellevue (Neb.) Bellevue West four-star tight end Kaden Helms.

Oklahoma has the No. 11 recruiting class in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings. The Sooners class is led by Lakeland (Fla.) five-star defensive lineman Gabriel Brownlow-Dindy, Tulsa (Okla.) Booker T. Washington four-star cornerback Gentry Williams and Littleton (Colo.) Valor Christian four-star running back Gavin Sawchuk.

The 2022 and 2023 recruiting classes have gone under some attrition over the last week after Lincoln Riley left Norman, Okla., for Los Angeles.

But they have managed to keep some players committed and leaving new head coach Brent Venables a great foundation in the 2022 class.

“Simply put, Venables is one of the best recruiters in college football over the past 25 years. His track record recruiting against the best of the best during his time K-State, Oklahoma and Clemson is matched by few in the game,” On3’s Jeremy Crabtree wrote. “Over the years, he’s recruited more than 20 five-star prospects. He’s signed dozens and dozens of four-star recruits. Venables has also unearthed hidden gems like lightly recruited but now NFL star Isaiah Simmons.”
