Class of 2026 running back Jonathan Hatton Jr. of San Antonio (TX) Steele High announced his commitment to Oklahoma Tuesday afternoon.

The 6-foot-1, 203 pounder chose the Sooners over Texas Tech, Nebraska, and Vanderbilt.

“The environment at those games is unbelievable, and it is like a family over there at Oklahoma,” Hatton said. “It’s like a brotherhood and just feels like home.”

His relationship with the coaching staff played and their plan for him played a key role in his decision as well.

“I’m closest with coach (Demarco) Murray,” the 2026 running back said. “They’re wanting me to be the man and help me build my game for the next level.”

The Lone Star State running back is the first commitment in coach Brent Venables and the Sooners’ 2026 class.
