Fairfield transfer guard Brycen Goodine has committed to Oklahoma, according to a post from his Instagram account.

Goodine will join the Sooners with plenty of experience under his belt, arriving to Norman for the sixth season of his college career with 95 game appearances under his belt.

A former top high school prospect, Goodine chose Syracuse as his school of choice heading into this freshman season. Averaging just 1.9 points and 1.0 rebound per game off fo the bench for the Orange before transferring to Providence after one lone season with Syracuse.

His two seasons with the Friars looked very similar to his freshman year at Syracuse, averaging 1.7 points per game in his 37 game appearances. Which were all off of the bench and resulted in him transferring once again ahead of the 2022-2023 season, joining Fairfield where his career would blossom.

Goodine suffered a season-ending injury just four games into his tenure with Fairfield where he averaged 7.3 points per game off of the bench. Bouncing back this past season for his strongest year to date where he averaged a career-high 13.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game. Named MAAC Sixth Player of the Year and earning a spot on the All-MAAC Third Team after appearing in 31 games with seven starts.

Goodine played high school basketball at St. Andrews School in New Bedford (MA) where he was a three-star prospect. Ranked the No. 93 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle and the No. 17 ranked shooting guard in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The 6-foot-4 Massachusetts native proved that he can score at a high clip last season, scoring in double figures in 24 games with six 20+ point scoring outings. Which include 37-point and 40-point performances in wins versus conference competition. As he’ll look to get buckets in the same way for the Sooners to close out his college career as Oklahoma joins the SEC.
