Bauxite (Ark.) three-star safety Marcus Wimberly has committed to Oklahoma.

He chose the Sooners following his decommitment from Arkansas on Dec. 1.

Wimberly is the No. 556 overall prospect and No. 40 safety in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 6 player in Arkansas.

Wimberly made his way to Norman for a Junior Day visit at the beginning of February. The Sooners offered the 6-foot-1, 185-pounder after a strong junior season and quickly picked up momentum in his recruitment. Brent Venables and Co. have now added another piece to a growing 2025 recruiting class.

“It was absolutely outstanding. The team is truly a family. The S.O.U.L mission stuff is so awesome. They really want to yes make you a better football player, but really a better man, son, husband, etc. [I’m] just extremely thankful for that awesome opportunity,” Wimberly said to Sooner Scoop in February.
