With the 2024 recruiting cycle having come to a close, programs around the country are turning their eyes to the 2025 class. Many have already gotten off to a hot start. Oklahoma is one such team.

With 10 commitments, Oklahoma currently ranks No. 10 in the 2025 On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. Now, the Sooners are trending for a pair of four-star recruits.

Oklahoma recruiting insider Josh McCuistion logged two expert predictions at 60% confidence levels for the Sooners to land Weatherford (Okla.) four-star athlete CJ Nickson and Houston Atascocita four-star four-star running back Tory Blaylock.

Nickson is the nation’s No. 61 overall prospect and No. 3 athlete in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the top recruit out of the state of Oklahoma.

On3 ranks Nickson higher than the other major recruiting services. He is the No. 45 overall prospect and No. 2 athlete in the 2025 On300.

Oklahoma currently leads for Nickson with a 97.5% chance of receiving his commitment, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

Blaylock is the nation’s No. 226 overall prospect and No. 18 running back in the 2025 cycle. In the On300, he ranks No. 188 overall. Oklahoma has an 82.1% chance of landing Blaylock, per the RPM.

Breaking down Oklahoma’s 2025 class

Oklahoma’s 2025 recruiting class holds commitments from 10 recruits, including five blue-chip prospects.

Those five prospects include Checotah (Okla.) four-star wide receiver Elijah Thomas, Oklahoma City Millwood four-star wide receiver Jaden Nickens, Midwest City (Okla.) Carl Albert four-star quarterback Kevin Sperry, Ennis (Texas) four-star wide receiver Gracen Harris and Oklahoma City Carl Albert four-star athlete Trynae Washington.

“The love everyone was showing me when I was there made me feel welcome and made it feel like home,” Thomas told On3 when he committed. “Benton Duby, Coach V, Coach Jones — they all made me feel welcome. When I went to other facilities I didn’t feel what I felt at OU.”

Cypress (Texas) Bridgeland three-star offensive tackle Ryan Fodje is the lone Sooners commitment of the calendar year.
