Oklahoma City (Okla.) IMG Academy five-star defensive lineman David Stone returned to Oklahoma on Saturday night for the Sooners’ rivalry game against Oklahoma State. It marked his sixth visit to Norman and first since June 2.

During the Bedlam game, Stone spent time at field level. He posted a video from his view on social media.

Stone is the No. 9 overall prospect and No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Florida.

The 6-foot-4, 270-pound prospect currently holds 19 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction MachineOklahoma has a commanding lead for his commitment at 96.8%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

“I talk to the whole staff there, too,” Stone told On3’s Gerry Hamilton about Oklahoma on Sept. 20. “We communicate pretty often. Coach Roof, Coach Bates, Coach Venables. He just wants me to let him know when I’m all in. He gave me the chip, which is pretty crazy. My dad has it in his car. And he says any time I’m ready to cash it in, just let him know.”

“Being from Oklahoma and that, it’s pretty crazy,” he added. “At the same time I feel like I could go there, but my family doesn’t want me to. They want me to experience the world and get out.”

The Sooners have no commitments in their 2024 recruiting class. However, Oklahoma’s 2023 class is No. 7 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 2 in the Big 12.

Stone, who has also taken visits to Michigan State and Oregon during the season, has an On3 NIL Valuation of $140K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
