WATCH: Oklahoma 4-star WR commit Anthony Evans reels in long touchdown catch
Converse (Texas) Judson four-star wide receiver Anthony Evans recently committed to Oklahoma. On Friday night against Austin (Texas) Westlake, he showcased why the Sooners and multiple other programs sought his services.
As his quarterback lofted a high pass, Evans out-jumped his defender for the catch. He then raced untouched into the end zone for the game’s opening score.
Evans is the No. 371 overall prospect and No. 52 wide receiver in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 64 player in Texas.

What to know about Evans’ recruitment
The 5-foot-10.5, 155 pound wideout chose Oklahoma over Georgia, Penn State and Texas A&M. He is currently one of three wide receivers in the Sooners’ 2023 recruiting class alongside Houston (Texas) Langham Creek four-star Jaquaize Pettaway and Tallahassee (Fla.) James Rickards three-star Keyon Brown.
“I talk to Oklahoma every single day, from the receivers coach to the D-line coach to the cornerbacks coach, Jay Valai, to Coach (Brent) Venables,” Evans told On3’s Sam Spiegelman. “I have relationships with my position coach, the offensive coordinator, the head coach, everyone at Oklahoma. They all hit me up and that’s the biggest difference between Oklahoma and any other school. It’s just one of those things.”
Oklahoma’s 2023 class currently contains 22 commitments and is comprised of two five-stars, 12 four-stars and eight three-stars. The group ranks No. 7 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 2 in the Big 12.
Evans has an On3 NIL Valuation of $19.6K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
