Katy (Texas) four-star wide receiver and Oklahoma commit Nicholas Anderson had a ridiculous touchdown reception in Saturday’s state semifinal game against Austin (Texas) Westlake in Waco, Texas.

In the third quarter, Anderson caught the ball near the midfield logo with a defender draped all over him. That defender tried to wrap him up but slid off Anderson like he was a stick of butter. A second defender tried to bring him down at the same time but he couldn’t even get a firm grip on Anderson.

After Anderson lost the first two defenders, a third Austin Westlake player flew into try and make an arm tackle. But Anderson spun out of it and it was off to the races.

The touchdown may have been a thing of beauty, but it has been an ugly day on the whole for Katy.

Five-star quarterback and Clemson commit Cade Klubnik threw three touchdowns in the first half for Austin Westlake, which led 31-0 at the half. Both teams entered the game 14-0.

Nicholas Anderson is a key part of Oklahoma’s recruiting class

The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – has Nicholas Anderson as the No. 199 overall player in the country and No. 31 wide receiver in the nation.

On3 ranks him higher at No. 127 in the country and as the nation’s 16th-best wideout.

Anderson has stayed committed to the Sooners during their coaching change from Lincoln Riley to Brent Venables.

The Sooners have the No. 10 recruiting class in the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking.
