Waco (Texas) Connally four-star cornerback Kobe Black is visiting Oklahoma State this weekend for the Cowboys’ game against Texas, according to Justin Wells of Inside Texas. This trip will be Black’s fifth to Stillwater.

Black is the No. 28 overall prospect and No. 4 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 4 player in Texas.

On3 rates Black higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Black is the No. 16 overall prospect and No. 3 cornerback in the country.

The 6-foot-0.5, 190 pound prospect has a family connection to Oklahoma State. His brother, Korie Black, plays cornerback for the Cowboys.

Black has received 19 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Oklahoma State is leading for his commitment at 43.8%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Black has an On3 NIL Valuation of $104K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Kobe Black On3 Scouting Summary

“Two-way star at cornerback and wide receiver who shows off his natural ball skills on both sides of the ball. Tremendous size and length. Measures in at 6-foot, 190 pounds with a 6-foot-5 wingspan. Jumped an 18-inch vertical and ran an electronically-timed 4.25 shuttle and a freakish 6.98 3-cone drill during the spring camp circuit prior to his junior season. Terrific high point ability and strong hands at the catch point. Solid long speed and hip fluidity. Prototype boundary corner at the next level and projects to be a top-tier NFL draft selection. Brother is current Oklahoma State cornerback, Korie Black.”
