Oklahoma State has extended an offer to Gretna (Neb.) High quarterback Zane Flores.

The new scholarship offer from the Cowboys comes less than a week after he received a tender from Kansas State. He also landed an earlier offer from Bowling Green.

Flores led Grenta to its first Class A state title this past fall, gaining over 3,000 total yards, tossing 26 touchdowns and running for 10 scores. He has been Gretna’s starting quarterback since his freshman year.

“He’s a quarterback that really knows the game of football,” Gretna head coach Mike Kayl told BVM Sports. “Zane’s very easy to coach because he wants to learn. He’s very competitive and he’s extremely humble despite having all the success that he’s had; he keeps a level head. …  We’re fortunate to have him in our system and we’re fortunate that we’re going to have him for another year.”

Nebraska, Missouri, North Dakota State and Northwestern are also heavily interested in the quarterback. He took an unofficial visit to Nebraska on Oct. 10 and is expected back in Lincoln on March 5. He was at Mizzou on Jan. 29, and the Tigers are reportedly close to offering him. He visited Northwestern this past fall, too, however, and the Wildcats recently earned a commitment from Naperville (Ill.) North quarterback Aidan Gray.

Flores has not visited Oklahoma State. He said he will also be back a K-State sometime in March.

Kansas State is the team to beat for Flores, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine. The Wildcats have a 34.1% chance of landing him. The Cornhuskers, which have not offered him, are listed second at 32.4% and Missouri is at 10.8%.

Flores is currently unranked, according to the On3 Consensus. However, he is expected to receive a ranking from On3 in a few weeks.
