Jackson (Miss.) Callaway three-star wide receiver Jeremy Scott has decommitted from Ole Miss, he announced on Saturday. He was pledged to the Rebels since March 10.

Scott is the No. 151 wide receiver and No. 28 player in Mississippi, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He checks in as the No. 1035 overall prospect.

“After a lot of prayer and several conversations with my family, I have come to the conclusion that is in my best interest to reopen my recruitment. I am formally announcing my decommitment from Ole Miss,” Scott wrote.

He does not currently have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Rebels maintain Top-25 recruiting class in 2024 cycle

Despite the departure of Scott, Ole Miss still has 20 commits in its 2024 recruiting class — which ranks No. 21 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Lane Kiffin’s pledge list still features four wideouts, headlined by JUCO prospect Marquis Willis out of Coahoma (Miss.) Community College. He’s flanked by Ocean Springs (Miss.) St. Martin four-star WR Noreel White, New Orleans Edna Karr three-star WR Rahji Dennis and Mccomb (Miss.) three-star WR SanFrisco Magee.

Headlining Ole Miss’ class is Lake Cormorant (Miss.) four-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin, the No. 51 recruit, No. 8 DL and top-ranked player in the Magnolia State. He pledged to the Rebels over Auburn and Miami on Aug. 19.

“Kam checks all of the boxes,” Lake Cormorant head coach Nick Nester told On3 of Franklin. “He is a great person that is a great player. The best thing about him is, he wants to get better. He has always played basketball, which has helped him in football, but once he goes all football on the next level, he will explode onto the scene. Ole Miss is getting a special player.”

Other top commits for the Rebels include: Bay Springs (Miss.) four-star DL Kamron Beavers, JUCO linebacker Raymond Collins, JUCO cornerback Cedrick Beavers, Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Hillcrest four-star safety Travaris Banks, Pascagoula (Miss.) four-star DL Jeffery Rush and Houston (Miss.) four-star DL William Echoles.
