Mikel Brown Jr., one of the top point guards in the 2025 class, will begin an official visit to Ole Miss on from January 30th through February 1st, he told On3.

This will be the 6-foot-2 junior’s third official visit. He tripped to Providence in November and is scheduled to visit Alabama on January 15th. Florida and Texas have hosted him for unofficial visits.

There is also speculation that Brown could reclassify to 2024, meaning we could see him suit up in a college basketball uniform next season.

The four-star recruit is a native of Orlando, Florida but currently attends Overtime Elite in Atlanta.

According to the On3 Industry Rankings, Brown is the No. 14 overall prospect in the 2025 cycle. He’s also the No. 2 point guard prospect. The On3 Industry Ranking is a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Scouting Report

“Mikel Brown, Jr. is a smallish point guard with a huge heart and basketball IQ. Brown has a developed skill set, one that allows him to play with the utmost confidence. He has a slick handle with great footwork, putting the ball in the right spots during a game. Brown is also a smooth shooter with deep and consistent range. His size will bring questions. He needs to add strength, and with that will come more burst and pop. He has an understanding of defensive concepts when it comes to footwork and rotations, but he will need to continue adding strength on that end as well. Brown is poised beyond his years with the ball in his hands and is the type of point guard who makes those around him better offensively.” – On3’s Jamie Shaw

Brown’s NIL Valuation worth nearly $200K

Mikel Brown Jr. currently holds a $179,000 On3 NIL Valuation, which ranks 40th in high school basketball.

The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets the standard market NIL value for high school and college athletes. A proprietary algorithm, the On3 NIL Valuation calculates an athlete’s NIL value using dynamic data points targeting three primary categories: performance, influence and exposure.

About On3 NIL Valuation, Brand Value, Roster Value

While the algorithm includes deal data, it does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals athletes have completed to date, nor does it set an athlete’s NIL valuation for their entire career.

The On3 NIL Valuation accounts for an athlete’s roster value and brand value. Roster value is the value an athlete has by being a member of his or her team at his or her school, which factors into the role of NIL collectives. Brand value factors in an athlete’s personal brand and the value it could bring to regional and national brands outside of the scope of NIL collectives.
