Ole Miss Basketball to host UT Martin during 2022-23 season

Ole Miss basketball just added another opponent to its 2022-23 schedule. According to Jon Rothstein, the Rebels will play Tennessee-Martin this coming fall. Here was his report via Twitter:

“Source: Ole Miss will host UT Martin as part of its 22-23 non-conference schedule.”

Still a long way to go until the full non-conference schedule is filled out, but Rebel fans can plan to see UT Martin at the Pavilion this fall/winter.

Some background on UT Martin: frankly, this is not a good basketball program. The Skyhawks went just 8-22 last season under first year coach Ryan Ridder, who replaced interim Montez Robinson after 2021. Robinson, of course, had to step in and take over in tragic circumstances after head coach Anthony Stewart passed away suddenly at age 50 years old just days before the 2020-21 year, which would have been his fifth with the program.

Ridder and the team are hoping to finally get past the loss of the former coach and regain some momentum as a program after a rough couple of years.

As for Ole Miss, their only other scheduled non-conference game is January 28th, 2023 vs. Oklahoma State as part of the annual SEC vs. Big 12 challenge. But you can check out who the Rebels will be playing in conference play below.

Season tickets for the 2022-23 went on sale July 1. Dates, times and TV assignments for both the non-conference and SEC seasons will be announced separately over the coming months.
