Ole Miss is one of a handful of programs trying to take advantage of the uncertainty around Arkansas’ football program right now, particularly with one of their top commitments.

The Rebels have made four-star defensive lineman Charleston Collins a major flip target, and it appears to be paying off.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Ole Miss now holds a 58.9 percent chance of flipping Collins’ commitment. That comes after other updates from around the recruiting industry, which followed an expert pick from On3 national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman earlier this month.

“LSU and Missouri are two more SEC programs that have remained in touch with the No. 11-ranked DL in the On300 for the 2024 cycle, who was giving Ole Miss strong consideration before pledging to the Razorbacks in April,” Spiegelman wrote on November 5. “The buzz around the Rebels is real, and I’ve logged an On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine pick in favor of Lane Kiffin and Randall Joyner changing Collins’ mind before it’s all said and done.

… There is even some buzz that a decision may not be too far off.”

The Rebels already have one of the nation’s best defensive line classes committed, with four-stars Kamarion Franklin, Kamron Beavers, Jeffery Rush and William Echoles already in the fold. Ole Miss’ class currently sits at No. 20 in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings.

Charleston Collins Scouting Summary

On3’s Scouting and Rankings team writes this about Collins as a prospect:

“Athletic defensive line prospect with a well-rounded skillset and projectable frame for the next level in order to fill a multitude of roles along the defensive front. Strong hand usage and power at the point of attack. Excellent movement skills and flexibility in order to bend the corner as a pass rusher. Capable of lining up as a stand up pass rusher off the edge with his get off.

… Has the frame to add impressive weight throughout his frame. Projects to the interior defensive line as a 3-technique in a 4-3 front or as a 4i-technique in a 3-4 front. Has the length and power to stop the run as well as the athleticism and first step to be an effective pass rusher. Will need to see if he can maintain his athleticism as he adds weight but will always have the power to be a dominant run stopper at the next level. High ceiling prospect if he can maintain burst with the added mass with an equally high floor due to his play strength and frame.”
