Another SEC team has entered the mix for Zachary (La.) three-star offensive tackle and current Miami commit Kavion Broussard.

The 6-foot-6, 253-pounder announced on Thursday that he’s received an offer from Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss. The Rebels join the likes of Florida State, Texas Tech and Mississippi State as programs to offer Broussard — who pledged to the Hurricanes on Aug. 13.

Broussard is the No. 641 overall prospect and No. 40 OT in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 19 player in Louisiana.

“Being recruited by Miami is great. They stand out to me so much,” Broussard told On3 upon his commitment.

“They have some of the best coaches in the country at Miami and they know how to develop really good offensive linemen,” he continued. “That’s what makes you feel wanted and what makes a place like that so great.”

Broussard does not currently have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Rebels seeking additions in the trenches in 2024

Ole Miss’ 2024 recruiting class currently ranks No. 20 in the nation, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking. The pledge list features 22 commits, but just two in the offensive trenches.

Nashville Christ Presbyterian Academy three-star IOL John Wayne Oliver and Baton Rouge (La.) Southern University Lab three-star IOL Jude Foster make up the O-line pledges headed to Oxford as of Nov. 9.

Half of the commits in Ole Miss’ class are in-state products, including the two highest-ranked prospects in the class: Lake Cormorant four-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin and Bay Springs four-star DL Kamron Beavers. Franklin is the No. 60 overall recruit, No. 9 DL and top-ranked player in the Magnolia State.

“The opportunity to put on for my home state and put my state on notice,” Franklin told On3 about why he picked Ole Miss. “The relationships I have developed at Ole Miss is also what led to this decision. My ability to impact my state is major and I’m ready to put on for it!”
