Two Ole Miss football players have officially declared for the 2022 NFL Draft, Braylon Sanders and Lakia Henry. Both players made the announcements on their Twitter pages.

Braylon Sanders wrote on his Twitter announcement: “First off, I would like to thank God for the opportunity to play at the greatest university ever. To the fans, students, faculty, and staff at Ole Miss, I would like to thank you guys for everything you’ve done for me during my time here. My college experience here was amazing and I would not trade that for anything,” the former Ole Miss receiver wrote.

“To my coaches, I greatly appreciate you all for pushing me to become the best version of myself on and off the football field. Being able to learn from each and every member of the coaching staff has been an honor and I will take each lesson learned and apply it to the next chapter of my life,” Sanders continued.

“To my teammates, you guys have made my time here, the best experience of my life. Going to war and growing with you guys is something I’ll never forget. Thank you my brothers. Forever loyal to #RebelNation and my time here has been nothing short of a blessing. However, with that being said, I am excited for the future holds as I prepare for the 2022 NFL Draft,” he said.

Sanders was the second leading receiver on the Rebels high-octane passing attack in 2021, hauling in 24 catches for 549 receiving yards, while bringing in four touchdowns. He averaged 22.8 yards per catch. In 2020, he hauled in 15 catches for 376 receiving yards, while bringing in four touchdown catches.

Lakia Henry made his announcement on his Twitter page as well.

He wrote: “These past three years have flown by and I can honestly say it has been the best, yet most challenging years of my life. I was able to learn more about myself over these years. Ole Miss, you’ve taught me to push; pushing myself in all areas physically, mentally, and emotionally. In these experiences I have learned how to be a better man and most importantly a better father,” Henry wrote.

Ole Miss, you will be missed. I will miss walking in front of thousands through the Grove. I will miss taking over every field I placed my feet on regardless of location. I will miss most of all is my brothers, my now life long family, and the memories that will live on forever. Thank you, Ole Miss. For the Opportunity and the doors that have opened up for me in my next chapter. I am excited to pursue my next steps in my future. Lakia Henry,” he wrote.

For the 2021 season, Henry racked up 38 tackles for Ole Miss.

Now, Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin will look for players to replace both players for the 2022 season, as they chase their NFL dreams.
