Former Ole Miss linebacker Patrick Willis narrated a hype video ahead of the Rebels’ matchup against LSU at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday. The teams will meet in Oxford for the annual Magnolia Bowl rivalry game.

Willis played three seasons at Ole Miss until 2006. He was then selected in the first round of the NFL draft and spent eight years with the San Francisco 49ers.

LSU holds a 64-40-4 advantage all-time in the series, and has won each of the past five meetings. However, Ole Miss enters this year’s game as a 7.5-point favorite. Junior quarterback Matt Corral leads an offense that ranks second in the country in yards per game. He has thrown for 1,728 yards and scored 22 total touchdowns.

Although LSU is coming off of an upset win against Florida, it has been a messy season in Baton Rouge. After dropping their season opener to UCLA, the Tigers won three straight, including their SEC opener against Mississippi State. However, they lost games against Auburn and Kentucky in the following weeks that put Orgeron’s job in question.

Not even a week after defending himself in a press conference, Orgeron and LSU came to a mutual decision to part ways. The total cost of his remaining pay will be $16.95 million, to be paid through the end of December 2025. Although he will not coach the team after this year, he will finish out 2021 with the Tigers.

Orgeron and Rebels coach Lane Kiffin have a history, as Orgeron served on Kiffin’s staff at USC. The two consider each other to be close friends, which should add even more intrigue to an already exciting game.

The atmosphere is always electric when these two teams meet, so expect nothing less Saturday. Thanks to the hype video from Patrick Willis, Rebels fans may enter the game a little more amped up.
