There is plenty of hype around the Oregon Ducks football program heading into the 2022 season, and for a good reason. That hype was at a fever pitch for their spring game on Saturday. According to local Fox Sports reporter John Canzano, Oregon had a monster crowd in attendance for their spring game.

“Oregon sports information tells me it is ‘estimating’ 42,000 attendance for today’s spring game,” wrote Canzano via Twitter.

The Ducks underwent a regime change during the offseason after former head coach Mario Cristobal departed for his alma mater in Miami. The whole he left in the program was field by one of the top young coordinators in the SEC in former Georgia Bulldogs defensive coordinator Dan Lanning. And with Lanning’s promise to usher in a dominant defense for the Ducks, Fans could not wait till the start of next season to get a glimpse of the future.

But it’s not just the defense that’s garnering a ton of attention this spring at Oregon. Former starting quarterback for the Auburn Tigers, Bo Nix, has been drawing an audience whenever he touches the field. Plenty of Oregon fans are intrigued to see what the offense can be with his dual-threat playmaking ability leading it.

Bo Nix makes immediate impact in Oregon spring game

Former Auburn quarterback Bo Nix was one of the more sought after quarterback prospects in the transfer portal this offseason and he wasted no time in making an instant splash in an Oregon Ducks uniform. On Saturday afternoon in the Ducks’ spring game, he completed a 70-yard pass to his receiver, Seven McGee.

Check it out below.

Nix connected with McGee two plays later on a five-yard touchdown pass to put the Yellow team up 7-0 in the spring game. Then a few plays later, Nix continued to remain hot, connecting with Dont’e Thornton with a deep 39-yard touchdown toss.

Nix was rated as the No. 6 quarterback prospect in the On3 2022 Transfer Portal Rankings. Last year for the Auburn Tigers, he completed 61 percent of his passes for 2,294 passing yards, while tossing in 11 touchdowns and just three interceptions.
