Concord (Calif.) De La Salle four-star defensive lineman Matthew Johnson has committed to Oregon.

He chose the Ducks while also holding offers from the likes of Notre Dame, Michigan, Miami and Texas A&M.

Johnson is the No. 338 overall prospect and No. 37 DL in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 27 player in California.

On3 ranks Johnson higher than other recruiting services. He checks in as the No. 254 overall recruit and No. 23 DL in the 2025 On300.

After visiting last year, Johnson returned to Eugene for a Junior Day visit this February. Other programs pursued the 6-foot-5, 215-pounder, but he’s now the latest blue-chip prospect on the defensive front to pledge to Dan Lanning and Co.
