Oregon State is off to a 3-0 start and has a huge home matchup against No. 7 USC this weekend. The Beavers will also be hosting a top-120 prospect.

Long Beach (Calif.) Long Beach Poly four-star cornerback Daylen Austin announced Wednesday afternoon that he will be visiting Oregon State for its game against the Trojans. Austin has been committed to LSU since May 16.

The 6-foot-0.5, 176 pound defensive back is the No. 115 overall prospect and No. 12 cornerback in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 10 player in California.

Austin’s most recent visit was a July 29 unofficial to the Tigers. He is currently the sixth-highest-rated prospect in LSU’s 2023 recruiting class, which ranks No. 6 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 3 in the SEC.

He told On3’s Billy Embody in August that he is “all LSU.”

“It’s the culture up there,” Austin told Embody. “I feel love every time I’m up there so I really like that. We (cornerbacks coach Robert Steeples and defensive analyst Bobby Barham) talk all the time. I saw all the recruits come in for Bayou Splash and we got to bond.”

Austin has an On3 NIL Valuation of $141K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
