South Carolina debuts new entrance for Cocky at Williams-Brice

Five-star freshman Nyckoles Harbor had plenty of hype entering his first season with South Carolina. Late in Saturday’s game against Furman, he showed why as he caught the first of what will likely be many touchdowns for him in Columbia.

Harbor entered the game late and caught a back-shoulder pass from fellow true freshman LaNorris Sellers for a seven-yard touchdown. He showed off his athleticism by making a quick turn to haul in a diving catch in the corner of the end zone. You can view the moment below.

Harbor committed to South Carolina out of Archbishop Carroll High School in Washington DC over offers from other big SEC programs such as Alabama and Georgia. He ranked as the No. 21 overall player and No. 1 athlete in the 2023 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

With both he and Sellers being true freshman, this could be a connection we see for many years to come.

Overall, it was a massive day for the South Carolina offense, which totaled 571 yards in a 47-21 victory. Eight different Gamecocks players scored a touchdown giving even some of the new names a chance to leave their mark on this one.

Nyckoles Harbor will hope to build upon the milestone moment as South Carolina now prepares to face No. 1 Georgia at 3:30 p.m. ET next Saturday.

LaNorris Sellers, Tyshawn Russell also score first TDs in South Carolina win

South Carolina true freshman quarterback LaNorris Sellers saw his first game action Saturday as the Gamecocks led 34-14 against Furman. Sellers entered the game in the third quarter and it didn’t take long for him to make a big play.

After completing his first pass attempt for 10 yards, Sellers stepped back and launched a perfectly placed ball to receiver Tyshawn Russell, a fellow true freshman. The result was a 50-yard touchdown that marked the first in the career of both players the pass found Russell in stride as he entered the end zone.

Sellers committed to South Carolina as a four-star recruit out of South Florence (SC) High School. He ranked as the No. 21 quarterback and No. 4 player from South Carolina in the 2023 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Russell ranked as the No. 1,171 overall prospect and No. 51 athlete in the 2023 class.
