The season is fast approaching and that means players who have been on the mend are running out of time to get right before the season begins. But the South Carolina injury report isn’t all that bad, despite featuring some high-profile names.

On the list are tight end Trey Knox, receiver Antwane Wells and receiver Nyckoles Harbor.

“Injury wise we’re in pretty good shape,” coach Shane Beamer said on Tuesday. “There will be certainly some guys as we get into it next week that would be listed as maybe questionable as you go into the game, but in my mind we’re expecting all those guys to play. Trey Knox, Juice Wells, Nyck Harbor, all those guys that have been banged up a little bit.”

That’s a significant chunk of expected receiving production potentially on the mend on the South Carolina injury report. Knox was a key offseason addition from Arkansas, while Harbor is one of the most intriguing true freshmen in the country. Wells has already proven his mettle, with 2,781 career receiving yards and 27 touchdowns.

But Beamer isn’t worried about their availability at the moment, despite them showing up on the South Carolina injury report.

“They all tell me they’re playing and they’re all on track to as well, and that’s how we’re going forward with that,” he said.

Still, everyone is eagerly anticipating the debut of Harbor, a five-star prospect that could play any number of positions. He’s starting out at receiver, a 6-foot-5, 241-pound freak of an athlete who is a burner in the 100-meter dash.

Between he and Wells, South Carolina could have one of the toughest receiving duos in the country to contend with.

That’s if they’re healthy, of course.

“They’re, I expect them both to play,” Beamer said. “Juice was out there. He didn’t practice practice but he was out there running around today and catching balls and doing some light jogging and things like that. Are they full go right now? No. Do I expect both of them to play next Saturday night? Absolutely.”

South Carolina opens its season on Sept. 2 with a marquee primetime game against North Carolina in Charlotte. It’ll be hoping everyone currently on the South Carolina injury report is available.
