South Carolina offensive lineman Jaylen Nichols enters NCAA transfer portal
South Carolina offensive lineman Jaylen Nichols has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.
Nichols has spent his entire five-year college career with the Gamecocks, making 38 game appearances and 18 starts. He missed the 2023 season due to an injury but has made starts at multiple different spots on the offensive line for South Carolina throughout his career.
In his tenure with the Gamecocks Nichols made 11 starts at left guard, four at right tackle, and three at left tackle, bringing size, experience, and versatility to wherever his next destination may be.
Nichols played high school football at Charlotte (NC) Myers Park, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,041 overall recruit in the 2019 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
