Ellaville (Ga.) Schley County four-star athlete Jalewis Solomon is set to announce his college decision on Aug. 5. On that date, Solomon will choose between Auburn and South Carolina.

With only four days to go until his decision day, a new favorite has emerged in Solomon’s recruitment.

Following recent industry updates, South Carolina has emerged as the heavy favorite to land Solomon’ talent. The Gamecocks sit with a 74.3% chance to land a commitment from Solomon according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

“I remember my first time up there and the fans were acting like it was my 50th time there,” Solomon told On3’s Chad Simmons in early July. “They love you down there regardless of who you are. I love the players, the staff and everyone makes it feel like home.”

Solomon was back on campus in Columbia last weekend for South Carolina’s annual summer cookout.

The 6-foot-0, 185-pounder is the No. 269 overall prospect and No. 11 athlete in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 31 player in Georgia.

Lewis currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $51K. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Solomon would be another huge win for Beamer and the Gamecocks

Following a huge recruiting weekend in Columbia, Shane Beamer and his staff landed their biggest win of the cycle. Washington (D.C.) Friendship Collegiate Academy Five-Star Plus+ EDGE Dylan Stewart announced his pledge to the Gamecocks choosing them over Miami and Ohio State.

Stewart was at South Carolina’s cookout last weekend alongside Solomon.

Landing both Stewart and Solomon would be a massive win for Beamer and the Gamecocks as they come closer to a top 15 class and look ahead to potentially securing a top 10 class.

South Carolina currently has 15 pledges in its 2024 class. That group ranks as the No. 17 class in the country and the No. 9 class in the SEC. Last cycle South Carolina finished with the No. 16 class in the country and No. 9 class in the Pac-12.
