Arlington (Texas) Sam Houston three-star tight end Lafayette Kaiuway has committed to TCU, announcing the news Thursday on social media.

He chose the Horned Frogs over the other top 11 schools on his list: Auburn, Baylor, Florida State, Houston, Miami, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas Tech.

Kaiuway is the No. 479 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $6.2k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

The Horned Frogs now have seven commits in their 2023 recruiting class, which was ranked 25th in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking heading into the day.

Mesquite (Texas) North Mesquite four-star wide receiver Cordale Russell is the top prospect in the class. He is the No. 180 prospect in the 2023 On300 ranking.

It is a pass-catcher happy group so far. In addition to Kaiuway and Russell, TCU also have verbals from Denton (Texas) Ryan three-star wide receiver Jordyn Bailey and Gilmer (Texas) three-star wide receiver Rohan Fluellen.
