One of Texas‘ five commitments for the 2025 recruiting class will be taking an official visit 200 miles north.

While a date was not specified, Pearland (Texas) Shadow Creek three-star linebacker Anthony Williams posted on social media that he has locked in an official visit to see TCU.

Williams is the nation’s No. 460 overall prospect, No. 50 linebacker and No. 76 recruit from Texas in the 2025 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

The 6-foot-4, 185-pound Williams is also set to visit Florida on April 13 for the Gators’ spring game.

When speaking with GO several weeks ago, Williams opened up about his early interest in UF.

“First off, Florida is a great state and Gainesville is a great city. There are a lot of things you can do there while playing football, which is always a plus. Some schools really don’t have a great city like Gainesville,” Williams told Gators Online.

“What I know about Florida is not too much. I know my dad and DJ Lagway‘s dad played together at Baylor, so there is some type of connection there.”

Williams committed to Texas on New Year’s Day.

“The coaches for sure,” Williams told Inside Texas“Everyone just talks about how good the school is and how the football team is, but the coaches are the main thing that stand out to me. Even though my guy coach (Jeff) Choate is leaving, I still have great relationships with the coaching staff so that’s why I feel like they stand out to me the most.”

More on TCU recruiting

Four prospects are currently pledged to TCU’s 2025 recruiting class. Garland (Texas) Naaman Forest three-star wide receiver Chance Ables and Austin (Texas) Anderson four-star athlete Ed Small both committed in February.

San Antonio Claudia Taylor Johnson four-star quarterback Ty Hawkins was the first prospect to choose the Horned Frogs in this class and ranks No. 164 overall.

“I really like Coach [Kendal] Briles,” Hawkins told On3. “I feel really comfortable in his offense and I enjoy being around him. TCU is in a great area and I love the campus. Coach [Sonny] Dykes just led them all the way to the natty so I know that I could go when I get there. I just really like TCU and could see myself there.”
