Brandon Baker, one of the top 2024 targets in California, has picked up his first SEC scholarship offer.

Baker, who is a 6-foot-4, 280-pound offensive lineman from Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei, said on Tuesday that he was offered a scholarship by the Tennessee Volunteers. Baker shared on social media that the offer came from Tennessee assistant coach Joey Halzle.

Brandon Baker becoming national recruit

The offer from Tennessee is his third offer overall. He was previously offered by Michigan and Fresno State. The offers from Michigan and Fresno State came last summer.

Brandon Baker took an unofficial visit to UNLV this past June. Plus, Baker said he’s planning to visit USC for a junior day event in March.

Oregon is another school showing interest in Brandon Baker. He’s not sure when he’s going to get to Eugene for an unofficial visit, but he indicated recently that he would like to make it up there for at least a camp session this summer.

Brandon Baker was one of the top performers at this past weekend’s Giant Skillz National Showcase in Southern California, so it makes sense that an offer from a top program like Tennessee would come in after the camp.

There’s plenty of video floating around of Baker’s strong showing at the showcase. There’s even a video of him flat out pancaking a pass-rushing defensive end – something that’s hard to do in one-on-one battles in a camp setting.

Baker was also one of the top offensive linemen for Mater Dei, which won the high school national championship this past season.

Baker played at both right and left guard and also contributed at right tackle. It’s that versatility that will continue to make him an attractive underclass target in the Golden State.

On3’s scouts say once Brandon Baker adds more strength, he has everything that you need to become a prospect that gets recruited on a national level.
