There isn’t anything like bragging rights, and former Tennessee star Grant Williams has them over his Boston Celtics teammates.

Earlier this week, the Volunteers crushed their rivals — Vanderbilt — in Game No. 7 of the SEC Baseball Tournament. To illustrate, Tennessee sent the Commodores into a tailspin with a 10-1 victory.

Of course, Williams had to give it to his three teammates who called Vanderbilt home — Luke Kornet, Matt Ryan and Aaron Nesmith.

“Grant Williams wearing a Tennessee shirt to his presser,” tweeted Alex Barth of 98.5 The Sports Hub. “His alma mater is currently the top seed in the SEC tournament an top-ranked team in the country. The Vols beat Vanderbilt 10-1 yesterday in their first tournament game. Williams: ‘I’ve been talking trash all day.'”

Grant Williams can continue to boast all he wants, as Vanderbilt was sent home from the SEC Baseball Tournament, while Tennessee is preparing for an opportunity to advance to the title game.

While they’ll keep an eye on the event, Williams and his teammates will also be focused on hoping to book a trip to the NBA Finals, as the Celtics will take on the Miami Heat on Sunday in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
