Atlanta (Ga.) Washington four-star EDGE Kameryn Fountain is one of the Southeast’s most coveted prospects in the 2024 class.

The 6-foot-5, 240-pounder is well over two dozen offers, including nearly all of the SEC. He has already locked in official visits to USC (June 2), Georgia (June 9) and Tennessee (June 23) next month, but he squeezed in one last unofficial visit in May before that.

Fountain was one of dozens of prospects at Tennessee this weekend of the Vols’ 865Live event, and coming out of that trip, Tennessee is trending to land him in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

After updated industry projections, the Volunteers now have an 89.0 percent chance of securing his commitment. The in-state Bulldogs (5.0%) and USC (3.2%) trail behind.

Tennessee’s early connection with Fountain is paying off

Vols defensive line coach Rodney Garner has been Fountain’s point of contact with the Volunteer since the beginning of his recruitment, and Tennessee was the first Power Five program to extend him an offer.

“I love it there, I have the same feelings there,” Fountain told On3’s Jeremy Johnson last month. “They’ve been there from the start. They were like the second school to offer me.

… I probably hadn’t even played half of a season yet before they offered. Coach Garner offered me. He said he saw the potential that I have.”

Other schools remain in the mix

Fountain told Johnson in April that he plans to make a commitment by the end of the summer, and both the Trojans and Bulldogs will get their shot to turn the tide in their favor. Fountain visited the in-state program in March and has a good connection with assistant Chidera Uzo-Diribe, who has led his recruitment.

“I have a strong relationship with Georgia,” Fountain said. “Coach Uzo-Diribe is a good coach. He tells you what it is instead of what you want to hear. Some coaches will tell you, ‘I guarantee that you’ll go first round’. There’s never any guarantee you’re going first round. There’s no guarantee that you’ll even play in your freshman year.”

His trip out to LA will be a first, as the Trojans offered him back in January and did enough to get an official visit next weekend.

“It’s a beautiful place out in California and I’ve talked to the entire coaching staff at USC,” he told WeAreSC’s Scott Schrader. “Coach (Lincoln) Riley told me I should come out and visit the campus, so that was really great. It was amazing talking to him and I’m definitely going to take an OV (official visit) there.”

As a junior last season, Fountain made his presence known of the defensive side of the ball by totaling 56 total tackles, 12 for loss and seven sacks.

He is the No. 147 overall prospect in the 2024 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Fountain also ranks as the nation’s No. 8 EDGE and the No. 26 recruit in the state of Georgia.
