Additionally, On3’s Matt Zenitz confirmed the news, tweeting that the former four-star recruit is returning to his home state.

“Tennessee has landed a commitment from Ohio State safety transfer Andre Turrentine,” tweeted Zenitz. “Nashville native who was a Class of 2021 four-star recruit.”

Moreover, Turrentine was part of Ohio State’s 2021 recruiting class. He was a four-star recruit and the 19th-best cornerback in the class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average.

A Nashville, Tennessee native, Turrentine originally chose the Buckeyes over offers from Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Oregon, and many others during his original recruitment.

Now, after not playing as a true freshman at Ohio State, Andre Turrentine is joining Tennessee after hitting the transfer portal, finding a new home.

Furthermore, the news regarding Andre Turrentine choosing Tennessee coincides with a loss for the Volunteers. To illustrate, Aaron Willis – who played in just one game for Tennessee last season – has entered his name into the NCAA Transfer Portal, per On3’s Matt Zenitz. The school has already removed him from its online roster.

A 6-foot-1, 225-pound linebacker, Willis was a freshman for the Volunteers last season and registered one total tackle in Tennessee’s blowout win over South Alabama on Nov. 20.

Willis, who is a former On3 Consensus four-star recruit out of the Class of 2021, held a number of offers coming out of Life Christian Academy – including from AlabamaGeorgia and Clemson – before ultimately picking Tennessee.

Willis will be a sophomore wherever he ends up for the 2022 season.
