Tennessee offers 2024 top-20 recruit TJ Capers
Tennessee has extended an offer to Miami (Fla.) Columbus four-star linebacker TJ Capers.
He is the No. 11 overall recruit in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Capers is the No. 1 linebacker in the 2024 On300 ranking.
“Longer-limbed inside backer who can cover, shed blockers and rush the passer all at a high level,” On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power said about Capers. “Effective blitzer coming off the edge. Chases in backside pursuit to the ball carrier consistently. Not afraid to stick his face into traffic when playing in the box. Tested well this spring with an electronically-timed 4.62 40 and a 27” vertical. Three-sport athlete who plays basketball and participates in track and field. Checks every box for the inside backer position and has an enormously high floor and an even higher ceiling.”
He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $142k. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
The Volunteers have zero commits in their 2024 recruiting class. The 2023 class is currently ranked fourth in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Ranking with a group headlined by Long Beach (Calif.) Long Beach Poly five-star quarterback Nico Iamaleava.
