Five-star linebacker Harold Perkins wasn’t in College Station, Texas, Saturday night — he was playing in his own game for Cypress (Texas) Cy Park against Houston Cypress Falls. But that doesn’t mean he wasn’t celebrating like the thousands of fan who rushed the field after Texas A&M upset Alabama.

After scoring two touchdowns — including a 87-yard touchdown run — in 51-7 victory, Perkins posted photos of him in A&M gear with a smiling emoji and a thumbs up.

But that wasn’t the only Texas A&M content Harold Perkins posted.

He retweeted a video from Jimbo Fisher about Texas A&M having the best environment in college football and responded to Manassas (Va.) Unity Reed four-star linebacker and Alabama recruit Shawn Murphy claiming that the Crimson Tide are still on their way to the national title.

Texas A&M is among Perkins’ top seven schools, and considered a favorite for his commitment. He is the No. 8 overall recruit in the 2022 On300 rankings.

Harold Perkins wasn’t the only top prospect to celebrate the Texas A&M victory

Opa Locka (Fla.) Monsignor Pace five-star defensive lineman Shemar Stewart also wasn’t in attendance on Saturday night but posted on social media in the aftermath of the win.

Stewart posted on Twitter and Instagram after the game in a post-win excitement, including photos of him in a Texas A&M hat with a smile as big as the Aggies victory on his face.

If Shemar Stewart and Harold Perkins are so impressed watching the game from a distance, imagine what the recruits who were inside Kyle Field are thinking after watching the Aggies pull off the upset.

And there were plenty of elite recruits in attendance.

Powell (Tenn.) High five-star defensive lineman Walter Nolen, and Nolen’s father has already said that positive the victory will be beneficial in the long run of his son’s recruitment.

Fort Worth (Texas) IMG Academy four-star Bear Alexander, Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb cornerback Marquis Groves-Killebrew, Houston Clear Lake cornerback Julian Humphrey and Scottsdale (Ariz.) Chaparral five-star Anthony Lucas were all also in attendance Saturday.

Dickinson (Texas) High four-star tight end and Texas A&M commit Donovan Green told On3’s Jeremy Johnson that the victory was a statement to recruits like Harold Perkins across the country.

“This win was huge because it showed what kind of ball A&M is capable of playing,” Green said.
