Joshua Celiscar, a former defensive end for UCF, has committed to Texas A&M out of the transfer portal.

Celiscar made the announcement on social media on Monday.

Celiscar appeared during 47 games with the Knights, including over 30 starts on their defense.

In those outings, Celiscar has totaled 156 tackles with 24.5 of them for loss. He also posted eight sacks in Orlando, even though he didn’t accumulate any this past season as a senior. As for turnovers, though, he had one interception and five forced fumbles with four recoveries.

Celiscar played high school football at Winter Haven in Florida. He was a three-star prospect there and the No. 1,292 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle. That’s according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also finished rated as the No. 106 EDGE and a Top-200 player out of the state.

Per On3’s 2024 College Football Transfer Portal Top Players, Celiscar is the No. 44 EDGE that transferred.

Celiscar entered the portal back in December on the day after Christmas, which was four days after the team’s loss to Georgia Tech in the Gasparilla Bowl. Now, over three months later, he is heading to College Station.

Celiscar was one of 16 players to transfer from UCF after last season. He is now the seventh to commit to a new program. As for Texas A&M, he joins as the 24th portal addition for the Aggies this offseason after 20 transfer losses as the program shifts into the tenure of Mike Elko. They come together to make up the No. 44 class in the On3’s 2024 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings.
