Texas A&M landed a major recruiting win Monday when it flipped Milton (Fla.) four-star wide receiver Raymond Cottrell from his year-plus commitment to Georgia.

The flip pushed the Aggies higher in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings, jumping from No. 15 to No. 13. Texas A&M hopped over Penn State and USC.

Cottrell is the No. 151 overall recruit and No. 23 wide receiver in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

He is the second highest-ranked offensive skill position player in the 2023 Aggies recruiting class.

“The people man.. that atmosphere is crazy,” Cottrell told to On3’s Hayes Fawcett. “I believe that Texas A&M has one of the best coaching staffs in college football. It’s just a work in progress. Also I wanted to play with Evan Stewart excited to learn from him, and the other receivers that are also up there.  I’ll be the 5th scholarship player there, and that gives me a chance to come in and make a impact off rip. Texas A&M is just all around great.”

He currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $29k. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
