Texas continues on its remarkable recruiting run. After landing a commitment Saturday from five-star offensive lineman Kelvin Banks, the Longhorns have added another prize big-man – On300 offensive tackle Cameron Williams

Cameron Williams of Duncanville, Texas, announced his commitment to the Longhorns on social media Sunday afternoon. Williams was previously committed to Oregon. But he backed off that commitment when Mario Cristobal announced he was taking the Miami job.

The Longhorns immediately stepped up their pursuit of 6-foot-5, 391-pound four-star prospect. That pursuit paid off with a commitment from the four-star prospect.

“The coaching staff is really one of the reasons,” Williams said. “Plus, I can stay close to home.”

Cameron Williams said it wasn’t just one Texas coach that sold him.

“It was all of them,” he said.

Cameron Williams ranks as the N0. 394 overall player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also ranked as the No. 22 offensive tackle and No. 57 overall player in Texas, according to the On3 Consensus.

On3 ranks him a little bit higher than others in the industry. On3 ranks Williams as the No. 279 player in the country, the No. 22 offensive tackle and 48th-best player in the Lone Star State.

Scouting report on Cameron Williams

“One of the biggest offensive linemen in the 2022 cycle. Absolutely massive offensive tackle who measured in at 6-foot-5, 391 pounds prior to his senior season. Does not register as a top athlete in the combine setting but shows encouraging body quickness as his size. Works at right tackle for one of the top high school programs in Texas.

“Very powerful and easily generates a push in the run game. His width makes it difficult for opposing defensive ends to run around him in pass rush situations. Has a high upside due to his unique physical dimensions but will likely need some time in a college strength and conditioning program.”
