Entering the week, if you were told Texas was going to cut down the nets at the Big 12 Tournament, you would believe the guard play was fantastic. While that might hold true, the Longhorns got valuable production from the center position and Dylan Disu. In fact, Disu played so well, he will personally be taking hardware back to Austin.

Disu was named the Big 12 Tournament Most Outstanding Player after having three quality performances. He was the leading scorer on Saturday night in the championship game, putting 18 points past Kansas.

Texas teammates were thrilled when the award was announced for Disu and began to go crazy. The center accepted his award and held the same big smile you see on everyone else’s face. A special scene on what was a special day for Texas.

Disu finished in double figures for all three games, with the 18 against Kansas being his highest total. Against Oklahoma State, he dropped 11 points and followed it up with 15 against TCU. An impressive week for Disu as his attention now shifts to the NCAA Tournament.

Alongside Disu being named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player, the All-Big 12 Tournament team was announced by the conference. Six total players were selected, with Kansas’ Dajuan Harris and Mike Miles of TCU tying for the final spot.
