Texas came out firing against Baylor, hoping to get an important Quad 1 win on the road. Everything was going to plan for Rodney Terry, leading by double digits during the second half. However, focus has now maybe switched to the health of Dylan Disu.

Baylor was attempting to get out in transition off a Texas turnover after Disu tried to get a pass to the free throw line to Chendall Weaver. Disu stuck his hand in before turning around and running back on defense.

He did not make it very far and immediately went down. ESPN showed a reply of the moment, showing a Baylor defender accidentally stepping on Disu’s right ankle. Play resumed for a bit before Texas regained possession of the ball.

Once the whistle was blown, trainers rushed onto the court to take a look at Disu. Before too long, he was hopping on one leg and being sent back to the locker room.

Disu was originally considered a game-time decision heading into Monday night, dealing with a stomach bug. He was able to play but not to his normal amount of minutes. With 10:50 remaining in the second half, Disu had played for just 10 minutes and recorded three points.

Not what you would expect from Disu if he was 100% healthy and the stomach issue was clearly affecting him.

Update: Dylan Disu diagnosed with left knee sprain, out for Baylor game

ESPN’s Kris Budden was able to provide an update with Disu not too long after the injury occurred, with the early diagnosis being a left knee sprain. He will not return to help Texas close out Baylor and the next question will be regarding Disu’s long-term health.

“He is still in the locker room,” Budden said. “The athletic training staff said he’s dealing with a left knee sprain but still being evaluated. He will not play the remainder of this game.”

Texas will close out the regular season in Austin with a rivalry game against Oklahoma. A trip to Kansas City for the Big 12 Tournament will be next, where the Longhorns will enter as the defending champions. Disu played such a huge role last year, averaging 14.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game.

More information on Disu will surely come from Terry during his postgame press conference, win or lose for the Longhorns. Everyone in Austin will be hoping nothing too serious occurred.
