One regular season game remains in the grind known as the Big 12, with Texas playing host to Oklahoma on Saturday. Head coach Rodney Terry wants to get another win over the Sooners, currently 3-0 head-to-head vs. Porter Moser. And with both teams closer to the NCAA Tournament bubble than they would like to admit, a lot of emotion will be on the court at the Moody Center.

Just around 48 hours until tip-off, the health of Dylan Disu remains the biggest storyline surrounding Texas. He has been labeled as a game-time decision after suffering a left knee sprain during Monday’s loss to Baylor.

Disu was dealing with stomach issues even before the knee injury occurred, something he has been dealing with all week. Thankfully, he is already feeling good in both departments.

“My stomach is feeling better,” Disu said. “It’s definitely been a struggle this week. But it’s coming along and my knee feels pretty solid. We talked to the doctors. Obviously, (Texas SID Scott McConnell) talked about how it would be a game-time decision. It all comes down to the coaching staff and the medical staff and what they believe is best for me and the team going forward.”

Disu played one of his best games of the season against Oklahoma on Jan. 23, recording a double-double. He finished with 19 points on 6-10 shooting while also snagging 10 rebounds. A road game Texas needed at the time, Disu came up in the clutch.

Texas will now be hoping the same can be true back in Austin. Having two different health issues just a couple of days away from a game is tough, especially with a recent knee sprain. However, if Disu is able to get on the court for maybe his final home game at Texas, he should be able to make a big impact.

If he cannot go, Kaden Shedrick is the obvious replacement and he got a fair share of minutes on Monday. In 27 minutes, Shedrick recorded 14 points on 5-8 shooting and three rebounds. He will be an important player for Texas moving forward but Max Abmas wants to see a whole team effort.

“I mean, next-man mentality,” Abmas said during the Baylor postgame press conference. “Everybody has to be better. It means everybody has to play better. And that people take the minutes that he’s playing, they have to step up too.”
